Derrick Johns is executive vice president and head of Global Alternatives Investment Services Operations, as well as head of Business Integration within Global Delivery. He is responsible for all aspects of service delivery across the Private Markets and Hedge Fund businesses. As head of Global Alternatives Investment Services Operations, Derrick is responsible for the execution of all operational delivery, client service and quality levels, and defining and driving initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our Alternatives services.
Additionally, Derrick is responsible for new business on-boarding and client conversions across Global Delivery through the management of the Global Business Integration teams.
Prior to joining State Street, Derrick was a managing director at BNY Mellon, leading the front-to-back initiatives across the entirety of the Asset Servicing business, as well as managing the partnership strategy. Within this leadership role in product management, he provided connectivity across the asset servicing business lines, custody, accounting, middle office and transfer agency, and data and analytics business.
With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Derrick has a proven track record of managing high-performing teams, developing and launching new product servicing models, and successful relationship management. He began his career at Barclays Global Investors in California prior to moving to Investors Bank & Trust through acquisition, and ultimately relocating to Dublin, Ireland to support the growing Irish business. He later joined BNY Mellon in 2008 holding senior positions across Europe, before re-locating to the United States with BNY Mellon in 2017.
Additionally, Derrick is on the Board for the Boston Public Library Fund, has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento.
