Derrick Johns is executive vice president and head of Global Alternatives Investment Services Operations and Business Integration within Global Delivery. Derrick is responsible for product servicing across the Private Markets and Hedge Fund business. As global head of Alternatives Investment Services Operations, Derrick is responsible for the execution of all operational delivery, client service and quality levels, and defining and driving initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our Alternatives services.

Previously, Derrick was a managing director at BNY Mellon, leading the front to back initiatives across the entirety of the Asset Servicing business, as well as managing the partnership strategy. Within this leadership role in product management, Derrick provided connectivity across the asset servicing business lines, custody, accounting, middle office and transfer agency and data and analytics business.

With more than 20 years of financial services industry experience, Derrick has a proven track record of managing high-performing teams, developing and launching new product servicing models, and successful relationship management. He began his career at Barclays Global Investors in California prior to moving to Investors Bank & Trust through acquisition, and ultimately relocating to Dublin, Ireland to support the growing Irish business. He later joined BNY Mellon in 2008 holding senior positions across Europe, before re-locating to the United States with BNY Mellon in 2017.

Derrick has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento.
