Timothy G. Lyons is executive vice president, group controller and business chief financial officer for State Street. In his role, Tim is responsible for leading financial reporting, regulatory reporting, tax, accounting operations, third-party risk management, and financial planning and analysis for the company on a global scale. Tim also oversees the finance functions of our Markets & Financing business and State Street Global Advisors. Serving as a trusted advisor to the executive management team, Tim provides guidance and counsel on related financial information necessary to shape the firm’s business and operations. Leading a team of more than 1,400 employees around the globe, he ensures we continue to deliver the highest quality financial and regulatory reporting to our stakeholders.
Tim joined us from Citigroup where he held a number of senior leadership positions across Finance, including Head of Capital Management, Deputy Treasurer for Group Treasury, and Co-Head of Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR). Prior to Citigroup, Tim served as Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse Holdings (USA). In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing Finance, Risk Management, Technology, Operations and HR within the United States, as well as oversight for client selection and senior coverage to US clients. Previously, Tim was Head of Financial Planning, Strategy and Corporate Development at Morgan Stanley and began his career at McKinsey & Company where he served financial institutions.
Tim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University where he graduated magna cum laude, a Master of Science degree from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University where he was a George F. Baker Scholar.
