About the Community Event Sponsorship Program

The Community Event Sponsorship Program resides within the Corporate Citizenship department at State Street.

The Community Event Sponsorship program invests corporate funding in communities where State Street operates in order to build goodwill and engage our employees in educational, leadership and networking opportunities.

We focus our community event sponsorship resources in three ways:  on events hosted by our strategic charitable partners in the workforce development space; events hosted by charities where our executives serve on the Board of Directors; and on Corporate Responsibility conferences and convening events.  We strategically engage our employees with these events to improve their professional skills and develop a community viewpoint.

Community event sponsorship investments foster strategic, comprehensive partnerships with charities around the world and raise awareness and visibility around key community issues.  The Community Event Sponsorship program complements the social investment strategies of the State Street Foundation Grantmaking Program and the Employee Volunteer Program.

The Community Event Sponsorship Program strategy is devised by 39 Community Support Program (CSP) Committees in 26 countries responsible for making event sponsorship funding decisions and managing relationships with local recipient organizations. In the United States, event sponsorships are granted to organizations and agencies designated as not-for-profit 501(c) (3) entities by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In communities outside the US, we provide event sponsorships to charities that are deemed 501(c) (3) equivalents.

The Community Event Sponsorship program complements the social investment strategies of the State Street Foundation Grantmaking Program and the Employee Volunteer Program.

Community event sponsorship investments foster strategic, comprehensive partnerships with charities around the world, raise awareness and visibility around key community issues and engage State Street employees by providing networking opportunities.
